4 years ago - I was an absolute nobody in the 3D printing space.
Had 0 knowledge to 3D modeling.
And had no clue on how to sell 3D printed products online - let alone sell the STL files for the products.
Literally starting from ground zero.
My first printer was an Ender 5.
That thing was so cool, and watching that thing create physical models out of thin air was a magical experience.
Since then I knew I was hooked.
Over the past 4 years I dabbled in a bit of everything.
Selling physical prints online
Creating & selling STL files
Growing Patreon Memberships
The list goes on..
If I knew then what I know now - I'd be lightyears ahead in all aspects.
My first physical 3D printed product I sold online was neon signs.
I had designed them in Fusion
Added the neon into the print
And soldered all the pieces together
I made anywhere between $80 to $150 a pop
And nobody else was doing it at the time.
All self-taught btw, nobody was teaching this.
I had done Instacart and my Neon Sign business as a side hustle to bring in extra income.
It was pretty cool waking up to "ca-ching" sound effects from my phone when those sales came in.
But I knew I needed more.
As my modeling skills got better - so did my designs.
I start putting out new designs, regardless of how "imperfect" they were.
Got my first few sales from my STLs.
And now for sure I was hooked.
